Human Salvation in Jesus Christ Essay
Question one
Christians firmly believe that God’s essential reaction to human sin was to become human. God became human in Jesus Christ without giving his cohesion with God. Besides, he became a human being without a sinful nature. It was essential for Jesus to come in a human form as this subjected him to everything human beings go through such as hunger, temptations, and fatigue. However, others such as St Athanasius believed that God became man so that human beings could be united to God through grace. Due to human beings’ sinful nature, there was a need for their way back to God. This necessitated the coming of Jesus Christ who was mandated to restore the good relationship between God and human beings. To restore this relationship, Jesus had to die on the cross for the greater good of the human race.Human Salvation in Jesus Christ Essay
Humanity is the ability to converse steadily using words, symbols, and gestures. Through communication, people are brought together as the gap between individuals and groups is bridged through the flow of information and an understanding between the people (White 137). Communication between God and man is also very essential. Communication does not only involve talking but also listening. Communicating with God involves listening to first. For instance, God’s primary communication with human beings is through the bible. Besides, for humans to fully understand God’s communication they must diligently memorize and meditate on his word. Men make their needs known to God through prayer. Jesus set a good example of how to communicate with God by teaching his disciples to pray. For instance, Jesus often and fervently prayed to re-establish an intimate communication with God.Human Salvation in Jesus Christ Essay
The human person is significantly related to God. God created man in his image and likeness. Besides, God inhaled into Adam the breath of life as heavenly consent was necessary to function as God’s image (Kahn, Ishiguro and Friedman 18). When man sinned against God, Jesus Christ was sent to die on the cross in an attempt to restore the relationship between God and man. Besides, God gave man the authority to exercise dominion over all the other creations. Such features provide a complete comprehension of what it means to be firmly related to God.

Question Two
Sin is any deed, emotion or thought that goes against God’s values. It involves contravening the laws of God by doing what is considered immoral and sinful. The origin of sin is attributed to Lucifer who chose to go against the will of God. Adam and Eve also sinned when they went against God’s command not to eat the forbidden fruit. As a result, they were chased from the garden of Aden. The bible warns individuals against sins such as sexual immorality, idolatry ad murder (Fowler 76). Besides, such kinds of sins are differentiated from other types of sins such as words and actions that hurt other people. The bible also distinguishes sins that are committed due to ignorance of what God expects of individuals and those that involve wilfully breaking the laws. Also, the Bible distinguishes between a single sin and repetition of the same sin. For instance, individuals who commit the same sin over a long period receive God’s punishment. God can forgive sins and especially when the sinners repent. However, according to the bible, the only sin an individual can do for which there is no forgiveness or pardon is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. Blaspheming against the Holy Spirit involves any sin that individuals stick to by incessantly repelling the convicting power of the Holy Spirit.Human Salvation in Jesus Christ Essay
Sins play a significant role in the separation of human beings from God. The good relationship which exists between human beings and God is jeopardized whenever individuals go against the laws of God. Whenever people sin, God ceases to answer their prayers and exposes them to their enemies as a punishment for their disobedience. However, such kind of punishment does not mean that God does not love the sinners but it is an act of caution. Besides, sins hinder individuals’ fellowship with God. Fellowship involves consciousness that all is right between God and the people at any moment. For instance, the things that make God happy makes people happy and vice versa. Whenever individuals go against the laws of God, the healthy relationship that exists between them is risked.
Question Three
Salvation involves deliverance or redemption from sin and its consequences. To deliver human beings from their sinful nature, God demonstrated love for all individuals through the death of Jesus Christ. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross signified the death of human sins while the resurrection signified the gift of life. Besides, another vital aspect of salvation is God’s gift of grace (The Lutheran World Salvation 52). Through God’s grace, the undeserving favour of God is bestowed on individuals under condemnation. By dying on the cross, Jesus accepted the punishment that human beings deserved and offered them righteousness. In a nutshell, Jesus died on the cross as a substitute. Without his death, human beings would suffer a death penalty for their sins. Jesus was able to save human beings from their sins because he was fully divine and fully humane. As God, he was powerful enough to make up for the sins of all human beings. As a human, on the other hand, he was able to represent human beings due to the understanding of the temptations they face each day. Jesus, therefore, accepted the sins of the world and died on the cross for the greater good of the human race.Human Salvation in Jesus Christ Essay
Question Four
God saved the world by becoming human instead of through a divine fiat because of his heavenly love towards the human race. God demonstrated his enigmatic wisdom and power by offering the people divine mercy and friendship in the midst of their suffering and moral instability. God saw it wise to assimilate human beings after their sins. This was not through the destruction of the sins but through incarnation in order to welcome human beings to discipleship and resurrection from the dead.
An understanding of the model of salvation is very essential as it makes individuals understand the existence of God. For instance, individuals are able to realize that God’s existence is a matter of faith. In addition, individuals are able to understand why God had to save human beings in a human form. For instance, God became human so that he could redeem the human being’s situation due to his superhuman nature and holiness. Besides, other dimensions of salvation should be emphasized too. For instance, salvation is also a present experience that allows the Holy Spirit to reshape individuals from the inside.
In conclusion, Christians firmly believe that God’s essential reaction to human sin was to become human. God became human in Jesus Christ without giving his cohesion with God. Sin is any deed or emotion that violates God’s values. Besides, communication between God and human beings is very essential and involves listening first. For instance, God’s primary communication with human beings is through the bible. On the other hand, salvation involves deliverance or redemption from sin and its consequences.
